: Malaysia’s official reserve assets amounted to US$114.65 billion as of end-December 2022, while other foreign currency assets stood at US$5.40 million, said Bank Negara Malaysia .
It also provides guidance on the expected and potential future inflows and outflows of foreign exchange of the federal government and BNM over the next 12-month period. “The short forward positions amounted to US$26.39 billion as of end-December 2022, reflecting the management of ringgit liquidity in the money market,” it said in a statement today.
It added that foreign currency inflows are projected to amount to US$2.25 billion in the next 12 months.
