Bluesfest has sensationally announced that Sticky Fingers has 'stepped off' the festival's line-up, after Sampa the Great and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard refused to perform with the controversial Sydney band. DETAILS: 9News

The Byron Bay festival has been embroiled in a war of words after organisers announced Sticky Fingers would perform and issued a statement today stating the band would "step off" the April lineup.

The controversy around the band is based on allegations from 2016 that Sticky Fingers frontman Dylan Frost physically threatened Indigenous singer-songwriter Thelma Plum. Two years later, Frost allegedly became involved in a verbal altercation at a Sydney pub and was subsequently kicked out."The narrative that they continue to deserve to be cancelled, as well as anyone who publicly supports them, is difficult to accept, wherein a portion of society and media passes eternal judgment toward those, in this case, a diagnosed mentally ill person whom we feel doesn't deserve the continued public scrutiny he's being given," the statement said.
