It’s a huge surprise to find out that many don’t actually know the purpose of tactile walkways, which are a type of pavement that features raised lines, domes, or other textures to communicate safety information to people who are blind, have low vision or other vision impairments.

And it may very well be this ignorance that causes them to park their motorcycles on tactile pathways, causing inconveniences to the differently-abled., took to their TikTok page to showcase how a blind Mr Rangga had to MOVE a parked motorcycle off of the tactile pathway outside of an MRT station in Kuala Lumpur.

Pn Nadia wrote, “We will continue to share the awareness on tactile pathways and the rights of the differently-abled. I will always support you and I am proud of you, my dear. Come on, everyone. Ready tactile pathways that are safe for the visually-disabled.”In the video, Mr Rangga can be seen moving a motorcycle that was parked on top of the tactile pathway outside of the MRT station before using the pathway to direct him on where to go.

Though, Mr Rangga shouldn’t have to move the motorcycle as nobody should be parked on top of tactile pathways in the first place. What makes this so much more concerning is that many don’t actually know what tactile pathways are.“In my 20 years of life, only now do I know why there are differently shaped floors, turns out those are pathways for the differently-abled.”

“Oh, I thought those are normal pathways. Sorry, I won’t park there anymore after this. That isn’t my motorcycle, it’s just that I always park like that too.”
