The 47-year-old woman was flown by helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls with 'significant' injuries, according to the National Parks Service.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming ― A 47-year-old woman suffered “significant” injuries Monday when she was gored by a bison at Yellowstone National Park.
Both people turned and started to walk away from the bison, but one charged and gored the woman, the parks service says. The woman was flown by helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Bison can run three times faster than humans and are considered “unpredictable.” This is the first incident involving a bison reported in 2023 and the first to occur in more than a year.
