The teen is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, first-degree assault and two counts of attempted murder, according to court records made public Tuesday.
The shooting happened at 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the Southgate Village shopping center in Pelham. None of those involved lived in Pelham but met there for the transaction, police said.
The 21-year-old victim was struck twice. Family posted on Facebook that he has undergone two surgeries for his injuries, which includes a shattered pelvis. The girlfriend was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, and the victim in the passenger’s seat when the shooting happened. “If anything about the environment or individuals involved causes any concern, we recommend canceling the transaction,’’ police said in a statement.
