Bill to stop Chinese citizens from buying Texas land gets major revision

Originally, Kolkhorst wanted to ban all citizens of China, North Korea, Iran and Russia from buying any land in Texas, which she see as a threat to U.S. interests. But green card holders — legal residents — would have been prevented from buying land. There are about 100,000 legal green card holders in the United States from those four nations, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.lead protests in HoustonKolkhorst has said that’s not what she’s doing.
Kolkhorst is from Brenham, but her district includes parts of northwest Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery and Waller counties.
