Alongside Biden, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will also attend the meeting of key Indo-Pacific partners.Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced that Sydney will host the Quad leaders' summit in May. "Leveraging our collective strengths helps Australia advance its interests and more effectively respond to the region's needs. We are always better off when we act together with our close friends and partners."

Albanese did not mention China in his announcement today, but the Quad partnership is widely viewed as having been born out of a shared resistance to Beijing's assertiveness in the Indo-Pacific.Albanese with US President Joe Biden, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the 2022 Quad summit."For the days before, during, and after, there will be a world showcase on this city and on our nation of Australia," Albanese said.

"This, I regard as a real opportunity for us, which will have spinoffs, we will be discussing the global economic environment that we know is under pressure due to global inflationary pressures.
