President Joe Biden is reportedly set to attend a conference next week hosted by the firefighter group that became the first major union to endorse him during the 2020 election cycle.
His appearance will mark the first time a sitting president has appeared at the International Association of Fire Fighters's legislative conference in over 20 years, Bloomberg reported. The move comes amid a series of campaign-style events Biden has undertaken as he gears up to announce his 2024 intentions.“We are proud and excited to announce that President Joseph R. Biden will headline the Conference in person,” the IAFF said in a statement, per the report.
Biden has pledged to be a pro-union president and has sought to cast himself as a champion of the working class.
