In a letter, Interior and Local Government Sec. Benjamin Abalos Jr. designated Simundac and Corro in acting capacities. “Under Section 46 of the Local Government Code of 1991, Vice Mayor Artemio S. of Simundac the Mayor, shall automatically exercise the powers and perform the duties and functions of the mayor, except the power to appoint, suspend or dismiss employees, during the period of the approved travel abroad of Mayor Biazon,” Abalos added.
