BHPetrol has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) to build 10 petrol stations in various rural locations across Malaysia. The project, worth RM45 million, aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas by providing essential services in underserved regions.

The MoU was signed between BHPetrol and eight agencies under the ministry, including the Kedah Regional Development Authority and the South Kelantan Development Authority , and was witnessed by deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and defence minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

In his speech, Ahmad Zahid, who is also minister of rural and regional development, said BHPetrol is investing RM45 million for the construction of 10 petrol stations at eight confirmed locations, with two more locations still under consideration. Confirmed locations for the new stations include Kampung Awah in Temerloh, Pahang, Sri Gading Batu Pahat and Bandar Penawar in Johor, Taman Kesedar Putra 2 and Tumbi Rapat, Jeli in Kelantan and Kubang Menerong in Penang.

The DPM said that the move by the ministry is another step being taken to reduce the gap between rural and urban areas to ensure a more balanced and inclusive economic growth. He also expressed his appreciation to BHPetrol for its role in the strategic collaboration with KKDW.Anthony Lim believes that nothing is better than a good smoke and a car with character, with good handling aspects being top of the prize heap.
