"They see shootings. They see stabbings. They see cases involving the sexual assault of children," Gonzales said during the citizen comment portion of Tuesday's Commissioners Court meeting.His employees applauded when he added,"But they love what they do. That's why they do it." Gonzales asked commissioners to provide relief from"the crisis that we continue to find ourselves in." In an aside, he referenced a local television news report last week that suggested prosecutors are micromanaged in a toxic environment. He dismissed the segment as an"unfair news account."
