Typhoon BettyPH (international name: Mawar) may exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday night, June 1, the state weather bureau advised in its 11 a.m. bulletin on Wednesday, May 31. ManilaBulletin READ:
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said that the center of the eye of Betty was seen 375 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes, as of 10 a.m.
It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km per hour, and it is moving northeastward at 10 km per hour.PAGASA also advised that tropical cyclone wind signal number 2 is still in effect in Batanes while signal no. 1 is still raised in the northeastern portion of Isabela , Apayao, and Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands.
PAGASA also warned those residing in the Bicol region, Western Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, the northern portion of mainland Palawan, including the Calamian and Cuyo islands, Mindoro provinces, Romblon, the Ilocos region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region against strong winds brought by this weather disturbance.Still due to Habagat, a heavy rainfall advisory ) was raised today in Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Antique, northern mainland Palawan, Cuyo, and Calamian islands.
A gale warning is in effect over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, and the Visayas.
