Aksyah Nasrah, Deputy Chief of the Sabah chapter of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia ( Bersatu ), announced his resignation from the party today and pledged his support to Gabungan Rakyat Sabah ( GRS ). He resigned from all his positions in Bersatu effective immediately. He stated that he had sent his resignation letter to the Sabah Chief of Bersatu , Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee, dated December 28th, and a copy to the President, Deputy President, and Secretary-General of Bersatu .
He emphasized that this decision was his own and was not influenced by anyone. This makes him the second leader from Bersatu to make such a move after Sabah Bersatu Secretary, Abdul Kadir Damsal, announced his exit from Bersatu in July. Aksyah expressed full support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and the GRS's fight to protect the rights and interests of Sabah as outlined in the Sabah State Constitution. He lauded Hajiji's success in uniting Sabah's leaders and people through the GRS political platform. He believes this unity of the Sabah people is crucial for the state's progress. Thus, he called on the people of Sabah to give their full support to the policies, plans, and ideas of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) blueprint outlined by Hajiji. Through the unity and amalgamation of all local parties, he is confident that Hajiji and GRS can lead Sabah to greater progress and success in all sectors and fields for the benefit of all its people. He urged for a full mandate to be given to GRS in the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17) and declared his readiness to assist Hajiji and GRS in the upcoming election
