IPOH: Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) secretary Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin will be defending his Pasir Salak division chairman seat in the upcoming party elections.

The former Umno state executive councillor, along with Tualang Sekah assemblyman Nolee Ashilin, also formerly of Umno, had helped to support Pakatan to form the state government.

Zainol Fadzi said the appointments at that time were a necessity, but now the members would get a chance to elect their leaders.“It will be in the hands of the members if they still want me as their division leader, ” he told a press conference here Friday .Asked if there were any"hot" seats in the 24 divisions to look out for, Zainol Fadzi said until nomination day, nothing could be confirmed.

“There is speculation that the divisions in Gopeng and Lumut are seats to look out for, but we don’t know if these are merely tactics to ‘test the market’. “Anyway, eligible members are entitled to contest, and when the day comes, we will get to know which seat is hot or otherwise, ” he added.
