Semasa memberikan renungan sempena Doa Angelus pada Julai 9 lalu, Sri Paus Fransiskus mengajak para penziarah agar mempunyai hati seperti “orang-orang kecil” yang tahu mengalu-alukan Yesus.

Prelatus itu juga menyeru kepada semua orang hadir di Dataran Sto Petrus untuk bertanya kepada diri sendiri sama ada mereka berasa kagum seperti kanak-kanak terhadap karya-karya Tuhan di sekeliling kita, atau adakah kita bersikap acuh tak acuh? Tetapi, kebesaran cinta dan karya Tuhan tidak difahami oleh mereka yang “menganggap diri mereka lebih hebat, angkuh, mencipta tuhan dalam imej mereka sendiri — berkuasa, tidak bertolak ansur, berdendam.”

Yesus menyebut penduduk tiga bandar kaya pada zaman-Nya – Chorazin, Betsaida, Kapernaum – yang tidak tahu bagaimana untuk mengalu-alukan perkara-perkara hebat Tuhan.
