Taylor shared what McDermott told him in the immediate aftermath of the injury during a press conference Wednesday."When I got over there, the first thing he said was 'I need to be at the hospital with Damar and I shouldn't be coaching this game.' That to me provides all the clarity. 'Unprecedented' is the word that gets thrown around about this 'cause that's what it is," Taylor said. pic.twitter.
The Bills shared an update on Hamlin Wednesday, saying he was showing"signs of improvement" but that he was still in the ICU."Damar remains in the ICU in critical condition with signs of improvement noted yesterday and overnight. He is expected to remain under intensive care as his health care team continues to monitor and treat him," the tweet said.
Every NFL team has shown support for Hamlin and the Bills by changing their social media profile pictures to Hamlin's jersey with a message saying,"Pray for Damar."
