Bengal tiger found at construction site in Tijuana [Breaking]
A Bengal tiger was found abandoned at a construction site in Tijuana on Sunday, according to the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico.
The animal was found chained inside a house under construction and reported by a citizen to the National Guard, who were near Limón Street in the Rinconada neighborhood, in an eastern part of the city just south of the U.S.-Mexico border. Criminal investigators, along with officers from the Secretary of Defense and the National Guard, secured the tiger.The animal was transferred to the zoo at the Caliente Racetrack in Tijuana while its fate is determined, said Mexican authorities.
Federal prosecutors opened an investigation. So far, no one has been arrested and efforts are underway to determine how the animal arrived at the site where it was found, an attorney general spokesperson said.
