Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte took the number one spot in the “Top NCR (National Capital Region) Mayors for the Year 2002 ” survey of the RP- Mission and Development Foundation Incorporated (RPMD) conducted from Nov. 27 to Dec. 2.

The participants were asked with the question: “Do you approve or disapprove of how his/her job as Mayor is being performed?” Belmonte was followed by Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, and Navotas City Mayor John Reynald “John Rey” Tiangco, who were tied for the second spot with 90 percent job performance rating.
