PETALING JAYA: Police are anticipating higher traffic volume on highways, major roads across the country from June 12 to 14 as people are taking the opportunity to return to kampungs in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob reminded travellers to follow all the standard operating procedures set under the recovery movement control order as it has been gazetted under the law.

"When you stop at the R&R to use the toilet, or to have a quick break to eat and drink, please follow the SOPs set by the government. According to him, the traffic volume at major highways and roads across the country remains normal as usual. "I was informed by the police that fatal road accidents have increased. We want to go back to our hometowns to meet our family, so we have to be extra careful so we can return home safely.
