1. There is a range of documentation that you will need including your full driving licence, passport, vehicle registration and insurance. You may also need a visa and an international driving permit. Before you leave, check with your insurance company to make sure you’re covered for driving abroad. It is also wise to have a European Health Insurance Card.2. Some countries advise that you carry safety equipment including the warning triangle and a first aid kit.
3. If you are renting a car your driving licence needs to have been issued a full year before you hire. Those under the age of 25 will be required to pay an extra charge. Also when hiring, check for any damage before you leave the car park and take photos . Make sure you leave the car back with a full tank of petrol.4. Last but not least, drive on the correct side of the road. It might sound simple but it can be easy to forget where you are.
