THE Western Command on Thursday said that National Security Adviser Dr. Clarita Carlos paid a visit to Palawan and the Kalayaan Group of Islands.In a statement, Wescom said that the visit of the NSA secretary provides a big boost to the troops stationed there.'Her visit speaks of our common aspiration, strong stand, and unwavering dedication to protect the people and the state under our responsibility,' Wescom chief Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos said.
According to Wescom, Carlos flew to Pag-asa Island using a military aircraft.She met with local officials, as well as military and other uniformed personnel, and local residents.Pag-asa island, known internationally as Thitu Island, is located west of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan and is part of Kalayaan Island Group.The chain of nine islets the Philippines claims as its territory is among the broader group internationally known as the Spratlys.
