OAKLAND — A Fremont man agreed to plead no contest to manslaughter in exchange for a four-year prison term in the April 2021 crash that killed a passenger in his car, court records show.
Roshan Pandher, 42, pleaded no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter last month, and is set to be sentenced in July, court records show. Police said in court records Pandher was drunk when he crashed into a car that was coming off the Interstate 880 offramp near Thornton Avenue on Fremont, killing Amritpal Singh and seriously injuring the other driver.Pandher was originally charged with manslaughter, drunk driving causing injury, and having a blood-alcohol level of more than .
According to police, Pandher’s blood alcohol level was .098. An officer at the scene of the crash reported both Pandher and Singh smelled like alcohol.
