Bank Negara governor says central bank will continue to enhance regulatory decisions on climate change

Bank Negara governor Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus says the central bank would review its prudential standards, where appropriate, and find solutions to address some challenges in Malaysia to tackle the risk of climate change to the economy. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 3, 2022.

BANK Negara Malaysia will continue to enhance its regulatory decisions, which include enforcing mandatory disclosures and stress testing in the quest to tackle the risk of climate change to the economy. BNM governor Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus said the central bank would review its prudential standards, where appropriate, and find solutions to address some challenges in Malaysia as an emerging economy.
