Pasukan penyelamat berkejar mencari mangsa yang terperangkap di dalam bangunan yang menempatkan sebuah restoran, rumah tamu dan pawagam.
Video yang ditayangkan media tempatan menunjukkan kepulan debu menyelubungi jalan raya serta pagar rosak akibat timbunan runtuhan di tapak bangunan itu. Tiada kemalangan jiwa dilaporkan setakat ini, meskipun syarikat CGTN menyatakan terdapat individu yang terperangkap di bawah timbunan runtuhan.. Januari lalu, letupan akibat kebocoran gas menyebabkan sebuah bangunan runtuh di bandar Chongqing yang meragut lebih 12 nyawa.
