Menteri Kesihatan, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa menegaskan, pakaian itu tidak ketat dan mematuhi syariah

“Kalau tengok pakaian jururawat sekarang memang ada etika, bagi saya tiada masalah. Sebaliknya yang paling penting sekarang adalah kerajaan telah meluluskan pembentangan Kertas Putih Kesihatan. Yang turut hadir, Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kesihatan dan Perpaduan negeri, Ling Tian Soon dan Pengarah Kesihatan negeri, Dr. Mohtar Pungut.

Ketika membahaskan usul Kertas Putih Kesihatan di Dewan Rakyat, beliau mendakwa, kebanyakan jururawat wanita yang berkhidmat di fasiliti kesihatan kerajaan berpakaian ketat sehingga menampakkan bentuk badan dan tidak selari dengan tuntutan Islam.
