KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has appointed Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi Mohammad Azmi as the new executive chairman for a period of three years effective from June 16, 2024 to June 15, 2027.

KOTA KINABALU: Bail applications by seven defendants charged in the murder of a college student in March have been dismissed by the Tawau High Court on Thursday .

Judge Datuk Duncan Sikodol made the decision after reviewing affidavits and arguments presented by both the defence and prosecution.The seven were among the 13 defendants jointly charged in the murder of 17-year-old Mohamad Nazmie Aizzat Mohd Narul Narul Azwan, at Bilik Asrama 7 Resak and 5 Belian, Lahad Datu Vocational College, between 9pm on March 21 and 7.38am on March 22.

They were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same law.
