PETALING JAYA: Top women's doubles shuttler Chow Mei Kuan has retired from badminton at the age of 26.
Mei Kuan, who formed the world No. 11 partnership with Lee Meng Yean, tendered her resignation to the Badminton Association of Malaysia on Monday .
"Despite efforts to persuade the 26-year-old shuttler to stay, Mei Kuan has reached the decision to retire from the sport. Although Mei Kuan is still relatively young, her decision has not come as a surprise after she tied the knot in December. She also helped Malaysia win silver in the mixed team event in the Gold Coast Games and women's team silver at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.
