Bad weather brings Kuala Kedah ferry services to a halt

ALOR SETAR: Ferry operations at the Kuala Kedah Passenger Terminal will be temporarily suspended until tomorrow due to warnings of strong winds and rough seas in the northern Strait of Malacca.

“During the temporary closure of the Kuala Kedah Passenger Terminal, passengers are advised to reroute via the Kuala Perlis Passenger Terminal until weather conditions improve,” he said in a statement yesterday, reported Bernama. “Today’s ferry operations had to be cancelled as it could jeopardise the safety of passengers and crew.“Five ferries from Langkawi to Kuala Kedah were cancelled, affecting 2,472 passengers involving ferry services scheduled at 8.30am, 10.30am, 12 noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm,” Baharin said.
