LONDON (Reuters) - An injury to Bukayo Saka ahead of a busy festive fixture list cast a shadow over Arsenal's 5-1 victory romp at Crystal Palace on Saturday but if manager Mikel Arteta was worried about that, at least Gabriel Jesus's form offered some comfort.

PETALING JAYA: As retailers and SMEs get ready for a number of festivities, from Christmas and New Year ’s Day to Chinese New Year and the forthcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri in 2025, the country’s retail sector is facing both opportunity and challenges.

“The closeness of all the festivities is presenting our retailers with a challenge in the peak season. “For retailers, if we have the festive period spread over the entire year, it would be more sustainable and easier for us to serve our customers. Retailers and F&B outlets, known to see an uptick in spending during festive celebrations, are navigating a difficult environment as these activities have not fully picked up this year.

Chin foresees retail apparel, F&B and hospitality sectors that are likely to benefit the most from the festive season. Survey reports from the Malaysia Retailers Association and Malaysia Retail Chain Association revealed uneven retail sales performances in the second half of 2024.The Restaurant & Accommodation Services and Personal Care sectors saw the largest growth at 3.3% and 3.2% respectively.
