Baby Shima, a popular singer in Malaysia, reported receiving threatening messages on social media. Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili stated that a 35-year-old truck driver was arrested in connection with the threat. The suspect was apprehended in Kota Sentosa, Kuching, and his smartphone was seized for investigation. The Sibu police intend to apply for a remand order today.

Baby Shima filed the report on Monday night after encountering threatening comments from an unknown individual on social media. The singer, known for her hit song “Bujang Sarawak”, was in Sibu for work-related matters and was accompanied by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing when she filed the report. The case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code / Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
