Seattle transfer Darrion Trammell, TCU transfer Jaedon LeDee are the leading scorers as Aztecs scrimmage

Matt Bradley had a rough shooting day in San Diego State’s intrasquad basketball scrimmage Saturday afternoon at the JAM Center practice facility.

Bradley had several assists during the 20-minute scrimmage, and a big one before it. LeDee failed to score in the scrimmage last week, just as Bradley did a year earlier in his first intrasquad scrimmage. “Last week, I was just trying to figure it out a little bit,” said LeDee, who responded with nine points in the opening 10-minute period on an array of jump hooks, put-backs and 15-footers. “It’s definitely a little different, just playing with different players, the defensive scheme. This scrimmage, I had a whole week to understand it. The coaches helped me a bunch. I understood my role and what I needed to do. I felt 100 percent better.

It adds further intrigue to the most compelling position battle in the run-up to the Oct. 23 closed-door scrimmage against UCLA and the Nov. 7 opener against Cal State Fullerton. Assuming Trammell, Butler and Bradley start in the backcourt, and Mensah at center, that leaves Johnson or LeDee for the final spot.
