Ayer Itam folk request another monsoon drain to reduce flooding

Residents claim that works for Package 2 at Lebuhraya Thean Teik in Ayer Itam, have caused frequent flash floods in the area.

They claim that several places along Lebuhraya Thean Teik have experienced flash floods since construction began in January on the Ayer Itam–Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway bypass road project, known as Package 2.

“I hope the state government will take the matter seriously and provide an allocation,” he said in a press conference at the site.Package 2 is a project under the Penang Transport Master Plan . The 6km toll-free road will have 1.8km on the ground and the other parts elevated such as viaduct structures , tunnels and grade sections .
