Axiata and Telenor in talks to merge Asian operations
MALAYSIA’S Axiata Group Bhd and Norwegian Telenor Group are in talks to merge their operations in Asia by the end of the third quarter this year.
In a statement sent by Axiata today, the telco giant said the proposed merger would improve economies of scale and help to share investment burden and high fixed costs in light of an increasingly challenging industry.
