johorbahru BAKAJ dan Ranhill SAJ akan memulakan pembenihan awan pada awal Februari ini bagi mengatasi masalah kurang taburan hujan di negeri itu.
Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Perdagangan Antarabangsa, Pelaburan dan Utiliti negeri Jimmy Puah Wee Tse berkata, musim panas berpanjangan sejak awal bulan ini dijangka menjejaskan paras empangan di negeri itu.
“Setakat hari ini, keadaan paras air di 16 empangan dan kawasan tadahan air seluruh Johor adalah memuaskan dan kebanyakannya berada di atas paras amaran. “Bagaimanapun, dengan situasi kurangnya hujan dan perubahan cuaca ke musim panas yang sudah bermula dengan permintaan yang tinggi berikutan limpahan pembangunan serta penambahan penduduk, pemantauan secara terperinci terhadap paras muka sauk empangan dan sungai akan terus dilakukan dalam tempoh dua minggu ini oleh kerajaan negeri dan agensi yang berkaitan.
