, the Austin -based autonomous vehicle startup, has announced a multiyear strategic partnership with Uber Technologies, Inc. to roll out both autonomous cars and delivery robots to the Uber and Uber Eats platforms.on Uber Eats here in Austin in just a few weeks, before expanding to Dallas and Jersey City, New Jersey later this year. By 2025, Avride plans to significantly increase the fleet of robots operating within Uber Eats across multiple cities.
“We are excited to partner with Uber as we scale our operations and work together to further improve the delivery experience for both consumers and merchants,” said Dmitry Polishchuk, CEO of Avride. “Our goal is to expand our fleet to hundreds of delivery robots in 2025, followed by the launch of our robotaxi service.”The robotaxi initiative is expected to launch in Dallas later in 2025.
Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Autonomous mobility and delivery hold a ton of promise for consumers and communities. We’re excited to partner with Avride to bring their technology to more people in more places.”Avride’s delivery robots are already making commercial deliveries in the U.S. and South Korea, while its autonomous cars are currently being tested on public roads.
