Hundreds flocked to Cronulla beach in Sydney to watch Johnston undertake the challenge, as of Friday morning he had already surfed 525 waves.Speaking to ABC News Breakfast moments after breaking the world record at 7:11am Johnston described himself as "pretty cooked".Johnston is aiming to hit the 40-hour mark later on Friday afternoon.
