Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong called the attacks on Israel "heinous" but said humanitarian needs should be met.
The Australian government is giving $10 million in humanitarian aid to civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza, with an indication that further assistance could be in the pipeline.

"We call for the establishment of a corridor to enable humanitarian needs to be met. And we support the work of the United States, Egypt and others towards this goal," she said.
