Fire Chief Jason Heffernan said the fast-moving fire spread 40 kilometers across a national park as hot winds swept across the state on Monday night. \'We're still working to control the fire. Firefighters are doing everything they can to manage the situation in accessible areas. However, we can't expect to get out of the danger zone in the near future,' he told national broadcaster ABC. According to Heffernan, nearly 100 people have registered at evacuation centers outside Dimboola, which has a population of about 1,600.
