AUSTIN, Texas — Austin FC, the capital city's Major League Soccer team, says police are investigating after one of its players was targeted with racist messages on social media.
Defender Julio Cascante, the team said, received “racist, vile and abhorrent” messages on a personal social media account on Wednesday.Austin FC in a social media post Wednesday further said that it “wholeheartedly supports Julio and his family, will do everything in our power to protect them, and stands firmly against all forms of discrimination.”
