The teenager who fatally shot a Sonic employee months ago in Keene was handed the gun and told “go” by his aunt moments before the killing, according to newly obtained court documents.
Police said the teen’s uncle, 20-year-old Angel Gomez, was urinating near the property when employees, including Davis, confronted him. Gomez and Davis got into a physical fight when the teenThe teen’s attorney, Seth Fuller, confirmed his client shot at Davis six times, striking him four times. He also said he believes his client had a fair trial and isn’t “asking anybody to forgive what he did.”
In the days since the trial, Fuller posted videos on YouTube and Facebook breaking down what he presented in court as evidence, including a written statement to police from the teenager’s aunt where she writes that she handed him the gun.Fuller said Gomez and his wife, who was 18 at the time of the shooting, picked up the teen and his two little sisters to take them to their grandparents’ house. They made multiple stops, including at a gas station to buy alcohol, before pulling into the Sonic.
“At that point inside of the car, the children are watching this, are scared, and the aunt ... according to her own statement, grabs the gun from her feet, calls her 12-year-old nephew up to the front seat and says, ‘Go,’” Fuller says in the video.He said testimony differed on whether the aunt said “Go shoot him,” or “Go scare him,” but “she definitely says go.”
