The movie theaters at Atlas Cinemas 10 Eastgate plan to close July 16. Eastgate Shopping Center owners Cosmo-Eastgate, Ltd. have confirmed that a Dave & Buster's Sports Bar will take Atlas's place at the S.O.M. Center Road Mayfield Heights location.
Atlas Cinemas Eastgate 10 will close July 14 at the shopping center, located at S.O.M. Center and Mayfield roads. An Atlas release stated, “Due to the shopping center wanting to redevelop the theater space into something other than a movie theater, Atlas Cinemas must close.
“We have made a forward-looking business decision to bring in Dave & Busters to Eastgate Shopping Center. Trends have shown that the long-term prospects for Dave & Busters are brighter than that of the movie theater segment, in general.” Hoffman said Eastgate has had a movie theater since 1997, beginning with Regal Cinemas, followed by Phoenix, then Atlas.
