AUSTIN — Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has been loading up on offensive lineman ever since he arrived from Alabama in 2021. So it was only a matter of time before he started adding some “big humans” to the Longhorns’ 2024 class. Atascocita four-star interior lineman Nate Kibble committed to Texas last weekend following an official visit. He’s the seventh player committed to Texas’ 2024 class and the first offensive lineman. The Longhorns' class currently ranks 53rd in the nation, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Kibble visited Texas A&M earlier this month and holds 11 scholarship offers. Houston, LSU, Nebraska, TCU and Oregon were among the other schools vying for Kibble, the No. 26 interior lineman in the nation and No. 73 recruit in Texas. If his commitment holds, Kibble would be the first Atascocita offensive lineman to sign with Texas since Sam Cosmi.
Cosmi was a relatively unheralded three-star recruit ranked 104th at offensive tackle when he signed with Texas’ 2017 class. He evolved into a force after taking a redshirt season to develop.
