New Zealand mosque shootings leave at least 49 dead
The dead include 41 people killed at a Deans Avenue mosque and seven at a Linwood mosque, while another victim died at Christchurch hospital, according to the Guardian.
Ardern during a news conference said “it is clear that this can only be described as a terrorist attack,” that she described as being “well planned.” According to reports, a 28-year-old man has been charged with murder and will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Saturday morning, while two others remain in custody.
New Zealand police described the mass shooting as a continuing situation, with a significant number of law-enforcement officers and investigators in the Christchurch area.
