“We are in a decisive phase of the war. We are experiencing fierce fighting. Therefore, it is important that we provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs to win and to continue as an independent nation,” he said at a press conference on Saturday. The United Kingdom was the first of the Western countries to signal its willingness to provide additional weapons support to Ukraine after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised a fleet of tanks to Kyiv.
