There was only one unanimous No. 1 pick in all seven AHSAA classifications and the AISA in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association prep football rankings.

The Red Devils have outscored their first four opponents 186-12 heading into Friday’s game at Plainview.The only change in a top spot this week came in the AISA where Patrician moved to No. 1 following Autauga Academy’s 27-6 loss to Valiant Cross.
The remainder of the No. 1 teams remained the same though there could be a shakeup next week, especially in the higher classifications, with a handful of top 10 matchups between 7A and 6A teams. Those include Class 6A No. Clay-Chalkville at Class 7A No. 5 Thompson and 6A No. 2 Mountain Brook at 7A No. 4 Hoover.
