Regular left fielder Michael Brantley, in the lineup Wednesday as the designated hitter, followed McCormick’s hit with another single. Yordan Alvarez, starting in left in Brantley’s place, drew a two-out walk to load the bases. Right fielder Kyle Tucker delivered a bases-clearing double for a 4-2 lead inHouston’s starting outfield combined to hit 5-for-11 with three runs and four RBIs on Wednesday. Brantley added a single and a run.
After slow starts to the season, Alvarez and Tucker have found their footing within the past week. Alvarez is on a 6-for-14 streak over his past four games, with one home run, one RBI and three walks in that span. Tucker is batting .381 in his last five games with one home run, one double and seven RBIs.
