Arredondo's original Facebook message, posted late Sunday night, had been shared more than 5,000 times as of Tuesday morning.

Houston Astros players, including shortstop Jeremy Pena, left, Jose Altuve and third baseman Alex Bregman, in the front, row show off their World Series championship rings during a ceremony before a Major League Baseball game on Friday, March 31, 2023, in Houston.

As though Sunday's extra-inning loss to Cincinnati wasn't crushing enough, Muñoz — who has worked at Minute Maid Park for 23 years — suffered a second significant loss the same day. He had removed his ring to wash his hands when he received a call for assistance, according to Facebook post from Janie Arredondo, a friend of Muñoz's daughter. Around 20 minutes later, when Muñoz realized the ring was missing, he went back to retrieve it but it was gone.

"My father is set to get his ring back today," Muñoz's daughter wrote."Times like this me why I love Houston. We are amazing when we come together to help one another. Thank you to everyone who shared and helped get his ring back, and to the family who is returning it after finding it."when the team secured the 2022 title, so all the organization's employees would receive one.

Still, not all rings are created equal. The organization divides its employees into various levels to determine which ring he or she will be eligible to receive. Astros players received a 15.3-carat version with 624 diamonds in all, while rings gifted to park employees are not as elaborate or expensive. They hold tremendous sentimental value, however, and are a prized possession for many employees lucky enough to receive one.
