Following weeks of continued progress in his recovery from a forearm strain, Astros righthander Lance McCullers Jr. appeared to stall this weekend and will remain in Houston to rehab while the Astros travel to Milwaukee to begin a two-city road trip on Monday.
Astros manager Dusty Baker Baker maintained that the turn of events does not constitute a setback for McCullers, who was looking at live batting practice as the next step in his rehab prior to a minor-league rehab assignment. McCullers was not immediately available to comment Sunday because the Astros’ clubhouse had closed to reporters by the time Baker revealed this information.
