ULSAN: Three researchers died of suffocation during vehicle testing at a Hyundai Motor Co plant in the southeastern city of Ulsan, South Korea, on Tuesday (Nov 19), officials said, reported Yonhap news agency.
IPOH: The Perak MCA has urged the Ipoh City Council to reduce its proposed assessment tax rates, currently set between 3% and 6%.
Publicity Bureau chief Chung Kok Heung highlighted that the proposed rates are higher than those of other local governments in the country. "Shah Alam and Subang Jaya have assessment rates at 3.25% and 5%, respectively, for double-storey properties. In contrast, residents here are required to pay a 9% tax rate for single-storey properties, which is higher than the rate for double-storey properties in other cities," he stated at a press conference on Nov 19.He noted that the bureau has received a total of 150 complaint letters from the public.
