Two more towns in Iloilo have been affected by African Swine Fever (ASF).

The Iloilo Provincial Veterinary Office confirmed that hogs in Barangays Libertad and Merced in Banate and Barangay La Fortuna in Barotac Viejo are infected with ASF.Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. extended the red zone areas to the two towns and issued an executive order on Wednesday, Jan. 5, banning the transportation and trading of live hogs, pork, or pork-based products in and out of Banate and Barotac Viejo.
ASF cases were detected in the neighboring towns of Barotac Nuevo and Dumangas prior to Banate and Barotac Viejo.
